It seems that this is the number one issue that I am asked about. "What can I do for anxiety, stress, and nerves?" WELL...
There are actually many things that can contribute to stress and anxiety. And as such, there are multiple things that can be done for this. Now, remember, I am not a doctor nor a psychiatrist, I am an herbalist with a passion for educating about natural ways.
I will only mention a few stress relievers here, because each situation is different, and thus can benefit from different things. So, here are some tips.
#1- Prayer. Yes, I am a Christian, unashamedly! And I know first hand that prayer is a HUGE stress reducer! Spending daily time in prayer, just 'casting your care upon the Lord' is a most amazing way to deal with stress and anxiety!
#2- Exercise- No, I am not a super fit, body builder! Even just a gentle walk can do amazing things for a person! It doesn't have to be power walking. Doesn't have to be aerobic exercise. To reap the mental and emotional benefits, just get moving!
#3- Cut out sugar- I know, I know... it appeals to us most when we are stressed. Sweets tend to be comfort food. Because the sugar causes our brain to release dopamine (the feel good hormone). So, yeah, we think, "this makes me feel better." But after the high, we crash lower than before.
#4- Get sunshine- This time of year, sunshine may be hard to come by. But a Vitamin D supplement can help out.
#5- Use herbs- There are several herbs that help! Lemon Balm, Skullcap, Valerian, Milky Oat..... the list goes on. A tea is a nice way to enjoy these herbs. Or, if you aren't a 'tea person', you can get these in tincture form. We have a Calm/Nerve Blend in our store that is a nice combination. It includes all of these that I mentioned plus more! Check it out here!
Again, each case is different and should be addressed as such. These are just some tips to help you along the way in your journey.
Wishing you a healthy and happy day,
