Weeds, herbs...what's the difference?

Good morning! Its been cool here this week. I am so looking forward to some more sunshine and warmer weather.

So, the title of my post.. What is the difference in weeds and herbs? Well, our attitude mostly! You see, technically all plants are herbs. What some have classified as weeds, are actually cultivated in other parts of the world.

Some have said that "A weed is a plant that is growing where you don't want it to grow." That is probably a better definition of a weed than any.

But when you stop and consider the plants that are growing around you, your opinion of them might change.

Years ago, I would look at a 'well groomed' yard and think how lovely. Now, I get more excited over the variety of wild things popping up than I do over lush thick grass! Why? Because my attitude changed!

I know of those who despise dandelions. I love them. I know of those who go out killing everything but grass. I love the little wild surprises that God sends each spring!

So, stop and look at them, pay attention to the plants around you! Learn about them!

One good way to do this is through The Biblical Herbal magazine. Great articles about both cultivated and wild plants. You can get yours here.

So, don't just consider the lilies...consider all the herbs that God has given. You just might find a treasure among the weeds!

Have a healthy day,
