Keeping Our Footing In a Slippery World

Good morning! What a beautiful summer morning!

Last time I blogged, I shared my frustration with you.

Coincidentally (or God ordained), my Pastor pointed out something this Sunday that has just stuck with me. Such a timely thought. He was using this in reference to something else, but a part of it stayed with me so much that I thought I would share it with you.

We are living in a very slippery world. The distractions are as thick as mud! The deceptions are as slimy as clay! The changing morals are as fluid as water! It is a very dangerous time in our world.

It is so easy to get sucked in by the distractions! The things that aren't really important. To lose sight of what is important. It seems that every time we turn around, something else is shouting for our attention, until we become completely disoriented!

Then, when the cacophony is at its loudest, it is easy to become deceived, whether in religious subjects, health subjects, or any other subject. And the deceiver is slimy! He knows how to dress in so many different ways! He can slip in through the door and we never even notice.

The moral atmosphere of our world (not just our nation), is nearly impossible to grasp! Morals affect every aspect of our lives. Our faith, our health, our relationships, our finances....  And combined with the above two aspects, it is simply hard to keep our footing.

I have learned (and am still learning) that the ONLY way to keep our footing, is to stay on the Rock, Christ Jesus!  Prayer, prayer, prayer and still more prayer!!!

In the last few weeks, I was so bogged down and distracted that confusion began to creep in. Now, I know that God is not the author of confusion. I know where it comes from. The enemy wanted to keep me distracted, get me confused, then to deceive me to the point where I would turn loose of my morals.

I refuse to be his victim!

So, through much prayer, good godly council, and lots of Bible reading, I have reestablishedmy footing.

I am re-prioritizing my life and my work schedule.

Putting the truly important things back in their rightful place.

You will still hear from me. (And I would LOVE to hear from YOU!)

The online store is still open! (And I'd like for you to check it out! Your purchases support small family owned business.)

But God is still number one!

My husband and my children come next.
